SCONSET BLUFF
This low shingle style house sits in gardens created by the homeowner and overlooks dunes and the Atlantic Ocean. The Dutch gambrel style roof visually seats the building in the landscape while the three gables are balanced with the horizontality of the front and rear elevations. The owners wanted a home that contributed to Sconsets’ architectural history and in which they could comfortably grow old and yet enjoy their, gardens and views. The house has a large first floor plan including an interior lap pool in which the owner can swim along while looking at her flowers. The flow of the house allows for future help to be discretely available while potentially living under the same roof.
